I was born on the 30th of December, 1970, in
Middelburg (The Netherlands). From 1984 to 1988 I attended Junior
Technical School "Klarenbeek LTS". The next
step was an Intermediate Technical School "MTS
Vlissingen". Here I studied technical informatics
from 1988 to 1991. I continued my study at Technical
College Eindhoven. In 1995 I received there a B.Sc. in information
technology. In the same year, I started to study
Technology & Society at the Technische
Universiteit Eindhoven. In 1998 I graduated with a project
that was set at Philips
Centre for Manufacturing Technology. During my university study
I also had a parttime job at the usability lab
of the Rabobank. As of
September 1998, I became a Ph.D. student. First at IPO-
Center for User-system interaction and later at the department of
Technology Management.
